Rhodes Veterinary Surgery Northampton

Rhodes Veterinary Surgery

Rhodes Veterinary Surgery is a local vet that a number of our clients have been registered with. With a history in Northampton dating back to 1958, in this article to aim to look at what local residents can expect from this vet practice.

Rhodes Vets Kingsthorpe

Rhodes Veterinary Surgery actually has 2 locations in the county. The one I am most familiar with and the one we are looking at in this article is known as Rhodes Vets Kingsthorpe. Their address and opening hours is as follows:

Address
Rhodes Veterinary Surgery
95 Queens Park Parade
Northampton
NN2 6LR

Opening Hours
Mon-Fri 8am – 7pm
Sat 8am – 12pm
Sun Closed

These hours compare quite well to other local vets with longer opening hours than Abington Park Vets but not quite matching the opening hours of Spinney Hill Vets. If it’s long opening hours that you are looking for then the main 24 hour vet in Northampton is the Vets4Pets Hospital which recently relocated to new premises on Becket Retail Park. For out of hours, Rhodes Vets refers customers to Vets Now at the Holcot Centre, Moulton College. The two vets at the Holcot Centre offer very experienced care but it’s not an ideal location for those who don’t own a car who may need emergency care.

The other branch of Rhodes Vets is known as the Far Cotton branch, located on Towcester Rd NN4.

When visiting Rhodes Vets Kingsthorpe you may access the building from the front or rear entrance. The front entrance is shown in the image at the top of this article and it’s the one that people arriving on foot are most likely to use. There is some street parking outside but their dedicated car park is at the rear of the building, pictured below.

The road leading to the rear entrance is a somewhat bumpy and pebbled one so best to drive slowly. It’s not unlike the road leading to Abington Park Vets car park. The car park itself is a decent size, bigger than Abington Park Vets, though still quite busy at peak times.

Rhodes Vets Price List

It was refreshing to see that Rhodes Veterinary Surgery actually features a price list on their website. You can find it at the link below:

Rhodes Vets Price List

As you might expect there doesn’t seem to be any wild variations in prices between local vets. Having said that I did notice that Rhodes Vets seemed to be slightly cheaper than Abington Vets which also publishes their prices on their website. Rhodes Vets also offers a Pet Health Club which could be a good way of saving money if you use the treatments included in the plan. At the very least it could be a good way to budget and spread the cost of pet care. The plans on offer for the Pet Health Club are:

Dog Care Plan £17.99 per month
Cat Care Plan £15.99 per month
Rabbit Care Plan £12.99 per month

Another interesting point I noticed is that the websites for Rhodes Vets and Abington Park Vets look almost identical, both with a copyright listed as Independent Vetcare Ltd. White Cross Vets also has the same copyright listed in the footer but at least they have a blue colour scheme rather than green. I don’t know if Independent Vetcare Ltd merely supplies vets with a website or whether the connection runs much deeper. It just seems odd to me that so many ‘independent’ vets would want to have almost exactly the same branding for their websites as other local competition.

Rhodes Veterinary Surgery – Summary
