Natural World Pets in Kingsthorpe is a good pet shop option for those living in NN2 like myself. It may not be as large as a pet superstore like Pets At Home but the product range will meet the needs of most pet owners. Indeed they seem to stock products aimed at dogs, cats, fish, birds and reptiles as well as other small mammals like rabbits and guinea pigs. Natural World Pets – Great Location & Decent Stock
When comparing Natural World Pets to other pet shops located in Northampton I feel it stacks up pretty well. Sure it can’t compete on range of products with the likes of Pets At Home who have far bigger stores. I also think Pets & Friends at Weston Favell has a better product range and the added bonus of services like a in-store groomers as well as DIY dog wash. For most items however you will be well covered by what Natural World Pets has to offer.
A real positive is the location. It’s on the very popular parade in Kingsthorpe, sandwiched between the Asda and Waitrose supermarkets. I imagine therefore that they benefit from a very decent footfall. It also means there is plenty of free parking. Another plus point is that the staff seem very friendly and for the most part knowledgeable about the products they stock. If you read reviews online you will see lots of positive comments about the staff, so I’m not alone in giving them credit.
Having only ever visited the Kingsthorpe Northampton store I was slightly surprised to learn that they actually have a chain of 5 stores within the Midlands. The branches include:
- Natural World Pets Leicester LE7
- Natural World Pets Northampton NN2
- Pingle’s Pet Store Leicester LE9
- K9 By Natural World Wellingborough NN8 (this branch seems to be superstore sized like a Pets At Home)
- K9 By Natural World Newark NG24 (again a larger store)
One thing that some pet owners will want to know when deciding which pet shop to visit is what the opening hours are like. In this regard Natural World Pets is pretty good. The opening hours do vary slightly between branches but not by much. The Kingsthorpe store is open between 9:00am and 6:00pm between Monday and Saturday. On Sunday they are open from 10:00am until 4:00pm. This matches exactly the opening hours of Pets & Friends at Weston Favell. They are longer opening hours than some small independent pet shops like Pets Pantry. No local pet shops however can match the opening hours of a superstore like Pets At Home who are open from 9:00am to 8:00pm Monday to Friday and also open Saturday and Sunday for as long or longer than the competition. For full time workers the longer opening hours of Pets At Home may be a deciding factor.
